This allele is responsive to Cre and FLP recombinases. Upon FLP recombination, cells will express mCherry. Upon Cre/FLP dual recombination, cells will express L10A-EGFP. It can be used to delineate cell types by dual expression of Cre and FLP recombinases through transgenic transmission or virus. Upon dual recombination, intersectional targeted cells will express L10A-EGFP, an L10A ribosomal subunit fused to EGFP that can be used for RiboTRAP assays for pull-down of actively translating mRNA. It is useful in studies on the role of mRNA expression in cells defined by Cre/FLP in a variety of behavioural and physiological assays with high spatial and temporal resolution. (J:94077)
