This allele is responsive to Cre and FLP recombinases. Upon FLP recombination, cells will express mCherry. Upon Cre/FLP dual recombination, cells will express Met-RS. It can be used to delineate cell types by dual expression of Cre and FLP recombinases through transgenic transmission or virus. Upon dual recombination, intersectional targeted cells will express Met-RS, a mutant methionyl-tRNA synthetase for selective labeling of newly synthesized proteins. It is useful in studies on protein expression in cells defined by Cre/FLP in a variety of behavioral and physiological assays. (J:94077)
