CRISPR/Cas9 technology generated an 8-bp deletion leading to a frameshift that prolongs the mutant protein by 23 amino acids changing the phenylalanine at position 600 to a leucine (G601QfsTer34). This deletion was generated by simultaneously injecting C57BL/6N zygotes with two sgRNAs targeting Birc2 (5-TCTGCAGGGGGACAATCAAG-3) and Birc3 (5-ATCTGTAGAGGGACCATCAA-3) and was generated at the same time as the Birc2em1Haka allele.
