CRISPR/Cas9 technology generated a 19 bp deletion in exon 19. This is predicted to produce a protein consisting of 978 amino acids instead of the 1071 amino acids in the wild-type protein, lacking the DNA binding domain. Western blot analysis showed that the wild-type 1071 amino acid protein is absent in testes of homozygotes. (J:338977)
