The 638/+70 bp mouse Nppa regulatory region sequence, containing the promoter and silencer and enhancer sequences, is located upstream of a beta-globin/IgG chimeric intron, nls sequence, the lacZ beta-galactosidase gene, bovine GH poly(A) signal sequence and the remainder of the Nppa genomic sequence to +4 kb downstream relative to the transcription start site. The regulatory sequence drives expression in the embryonic atrial and ventricular chamber myocardium. (J:278530)
