Exon 3 (previously exon 1), encoding the N-terminal region and part of the Runt domain, was flanked by loxP sites. An FRT-flanked neomycin resistance gene was inserted in between exon 3 and the second loxP site and was removed via flp-mediated recombination. (J:299239)
