Site-specific PhiC31 integrase-mediated transgenesis is used to insert a chicken beta-actin promoter with a CMV enhancer (CAG promoter) followed by a loxP-flanked stop cassette and the entire open reading frame of the human CD59 gene into the intergenic site 2 locus. This construct was microinjected, along with the PhiC31 integrase mRNA, into the pronuclei of zygotes collected from the TARGATT mice on a FVB/N congenic background. (J:237074)
