LoxP sites were inserted to flank the minimal promoter and exon 1, which contains the start ATG codon and encode the first 17 amino acids. An frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette was removed via FLP-mediated recombination. Cre-mediated recombination resulted in the deletion of the minimal promoter and exon 1. (J:276877)
