The gene trap vector, which consists of splice acceptor site linked to a beta-geo selectable marker, was inserted into the 1st intron of the Rer1 gene on chromosome 4. Exon 2 encodes the translation initiation codon of the Rer1 protein. Flp-mediated recombination inverted the gene trap to produce a conditional allele. (J:266159)
