Exons 5 and 6 were deleted via Cre-mediated recombination of flanking loxP sites. Quantitative real-time PCR revealed that homozygous mutant mice express a stable truncated Arv1 mRNA containing exons 1-4. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of full-length or truncated protein expression in the liver and small intestine. (J:263695)
