LoxP sites were inserted to flank exon 2, and an frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette was inserted between the 5' loxP site and exon 2. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neomycin cassette and exon 2. Northern blot analysis of whole brain RNA showed that the transcript was not present in homozygous mutant mice. (J:270199)
