The transposon containing an unspecified hybrid actin promoter driving expression of red fluorescent protein (RFP) flanked by piggyBac-specific left and right terminal sequences was co-injected with a piggyBac-containing transgene to mobilize the transposon. Line 1 contains a transposon inserted in the 13th intron of the gene. A RT PCR assay indicated that the encoded mRNA was truncated and degraded. Western blot analysis did not detect the encoded protein in the testis of homozygous mutant mice. (J:123680, J:262160)
