Cre-mediated recombination of loxP sites that flank exons 2 and 3 resulted in a deletion. This allele produces a nonfunctional mRNA, which encodes the first 53 amino acids of the full length protein followed by 18 novel frameshifted amino acids and a premature stop codon. (J:241193)
