Tg(MMTV-ERBB2*)#Arbs

This transgene expresses a C-terminal fragment (CTF) of the human erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 (ERBB2; also called HER2 or Neu) protein transcribed from the methionine codon at position 687 of the cDNA (GenBank Accession M11730.1; GI:183986) under control of the Rous sarcoma virus enhancer followed by the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) long terminal repeat. Western blot analysis of mammary gland lysates from 7 week-old homozygous transgenic mice using antibodies to the cytoplasmic domain of ERBB2 demonstrated expression of the CTF at 0.5-fold and 2-fold the level of endogenous ERBB2 in transgenic mouse lines F1 and F2, respectively.
