Arginine codon 38 (AGA) in exon 2 was changed to glutamic acid (GAG) (p.R38E). Exon 2 was flanked by loxP sites. The FRT site flanked selection cassette that was inserted was removed through subsequent Flp-mediated recombination. The mutation renders the encoded peptide cleavage-resistant. (J:230080)
