The proximal loxP site was inserted together with a neomycin selection cassette flanked by FRT sites within intron 3 of the Il23r gene, the distal loxP site was introduced within intron 4. The resultant mouse line was bred to a FLP deleter-line, which ubiquitously expresses Flp-recombinase to excise the neomycin selection cassette. (J:237237)
