The mouse albumin promoter drives the expression of the X gene of the Hepatitis B virus ayw subtype in the liver. Two direct repeats of the chicken beta-globin HS4 insulator were placed downstream of the poly(A) signal to block positional effects. four lines were established: A105, A106, A110, and A112. This is a high expression line with 1 transgenic copy number. A high level of Hepatitis B virus mRNA expression is detected in the liver and a lower level in the kidney. (J:104728)
