使用了BAC(细菌人工染色体)文库(CHORI)来获得一个包含整套小鼠Cx3cl1(chemokine(CTX3-C motif)ligand 1)基因的120kb BAC，编号为#RP24147I16。这个BAC经过改造，插入了一个在第105位的终止密码子，并在第3外显子后面接上了myc标签。通过限制性酶切，BAC中去除了CCL22和CCL17的序列。转基因编码的是一种分泌的、无黏液基质部分的截短蛋白。参考文献为(J:178874)。
