靶向载体被设计成在exon 2上游插入一个含loxP-flanked PGKneo cassette，exon 2下游则有loxP位点。通过与携带Tg(EIIa-cre)C5379Lmgd的鼠杂交，产生了突变小鼠，用于去除exon 2和neo cassette。基因附近的多态性表明，目标基因位于来自ES细胞系生成胚胎的129S4/Jae母系的基因组区域。（J:220524）
