TALENs targeting exon 1 induced a 2 bp deletion at the 52nd base of the coding region. This deletion results in a stop codon and premature truncation after glutamine 17 (p.C18*fs*1). Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in mouse embryonic fibroblasts, bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs), peritoneal macrophages, thymus, muscle, colon, intestine, heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney and brain.
