使用重组修复技术，在一个BAC中插入了Cre重组酶 cassette，它位于Tshb基因的启动子位置。通过微注射构建，产生了4个表达Cre的转基因个体，这些个体被用于与报告小鼠杂交进行活性检测。其中，3个品系在垂体中的活性水平适中，但并不特异性针对甲状腺细胞。另外一条（Founder line 4）则展现出更强的甲状腺细胞特异性和更高的活性，因此被选中进行进一步研究。（来源：J:197591）
