The proximal murine Hexb promoter (330 bp) drives expression of the tet-transactivator from the pTet-off advanced plasmid and tet responsive element (TRE-tight) drives expression of a full-length mouse Hexb cDNA. Expression is seen only in the nervous tissue, skin, and skeletal muscle. In the cerebral cortex expression of the tet-transactivator transcript is evenly distributed through the cortex. (J:190450)
