Gja10^{tm2(Hbegf/EGFP)Kwi}

Homologous recombination replaced most of exon 2 with an FRT-flanked sequence encoding an HBEGF/EGFP (DTR/EGFP) fusion protein followed by cre recombinase with a nuclear localization signal. A PGK-neo selection cassette was inserted into intron 2. The diphtheria toxin receptor (HBEGF or DTR) is expressed from the Gja10 promoter and can be removed by flp-mediated recombination, leaving cre recombinase under control of the promoter.
