这Prism 1989品系是通过将三个小鼠的细菌人工染色体(BAC)转基因构建共同注射产生的。BAC RP23-290A18包含了Snap25基因的全长，通过在Snap25的起始密码子(ATG)位置插入了标记YFP的Rpl10a(ribosomal protein L10A)。BAC RP23-172H7含有Mobp基因的全长，Mobp的起始密码子(ATG)处插入了带有Myc标签的Cerulean(CFP)。BAC RP23-7M9包含了Aldh1l1基因的全长，Aldh1l1的起始密码子(ATG)位置插入了DsRedMax。后续建立了1989代突变体(Founder line 1989，J:189629)。
