通过重组修复技术，生成了一个用于改造含Slc26a5（prestin）基因座的BAC。在第20号外显子的终止密码子后插入了IRES-cre/ERT2-frt-neo-frt元件。该载体随后电穿孔导入TL-1 ES细胞，以培育敲入小鼠。在P0时给予tamoxifen处理，P2时在内耳的毛细胞中观察到了Cre活性。在前庭器官、睾丸和大脑（Slc26a5表达量较低的组织）中，未检测到报告基因信号。（来源：J:182720）
