This mutation was induced by retroviral transduction of ES cells with the U3betageo gene trap vector, which contains a promoterless E. coli beta-galactosidase (lacZ)/neomycin phosphotransferase fusion gene (betageo) without a splice acceptor sequence. Its insertion has disrupted intron 5 of the endogenous gene. (J:82809)
