在经同源重组，一个floxed neo cassette被插入到exon 3上游，而后在exon 4下游插入了loxP位点。通过Cre介导的重组，neo cassette和exons 3-4被去除。对纯合小鼠视网膜总提取物的 Western blot 检测证实了69 kDa亚型的缺失，但检测到了约45 kDa水平的表达。RT-PCR分析也检测到了少量的短转录本。测序结果显示，这个转录本是通过exon 1到exon 5的替代剪接形成的。(来源：J:177916)
