A transgene, which contained the nasopharyngeal carcinoma-derived human gene with upstream promoter, coding sequence, and 3' untranslated region, inserted into intron 1 and resulted in a 7.2 kb deletion from intron 1. Western blot analysis confirmed that the transgene failed to express in skin extracts. The absence of endogenous transcript expression was confirmed by RT-PCR on skin, brain, heart, lung, liver, stomach, intestine, and kidney extracts. (J:171677)
