含有Slc32a1(维亚塔)基因座的BAC RP23-392P11通过同源重组插入了Cre重组酶序列、终止密码子和Actin-related protein 5同源基因(Actr5)的polyadenylation序列，位于起始密码子下游。经线性化后，BAC中仅包含维亚塔基因和Actr5基因的剪切片段。这种经过修改的109kb BAC被注入了FVB/N雌性卵母细胞。转基因动物的Slc32a1和Actr5表达水平与野生型小鼠相似。已鉴定出2.1号克隆并进行了扩增(来源：J:166851)
