A floxed neomycin resistance cassette in reverse orientation was inserted in intron 1. Mutations were inserted in exon 2 causing an aspartic acid to alanine change at codon 22 (D22A) and arginine to alanine changes at codons 24 and 102 (R24A, R102A). An additional mutation in exon 3 changes codon 117 from arginine to alanine (R117A). All four mutated amino acids are in the extracellular domain of the protein.
