This transgene contains the mouse Hsp70A1 promoter (from the mouse Hspa1a locus) upstream of a modified firefly luciferase gene open reading frame, a 54 bp sequence from foot-and-mouth disease virus that mediates ribosomal skipping (F2A), a 24 bp polylinker, and an enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein (eGFP) open reading frame.
