Lysine codon 220 (AAG) in exon 8 was changed to alanine (p.K220A) and a loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette was inserted into the 3' UTR in exon 13. The neo cassette was removed through subsequent Cre-mediated recombination. This substitution produces a kinase-dead product with decreased binding to beta-parvin (Parvb). (J:154054)
