设计了一个靶向载体，用于将CreERT2融合基因（Cre-ERT2，人雌激素受体配体结合域的G400V/M543A/L544A三重突变）、SV40polyA信号和Frt-flankedneo cassette插入Lhx6基因的起始密码子。突变小鼠与Actin-FLPe小鼠（背景为C57BL/6纯合品系）杂交，以剔除neo选择性 cassette。随后，这些Lhx6-CreERT2小鼠与野生型同胞或野生型C57BL/6小鼠杂交至少一代，并且移除了FLPe基因（来源：J:151755）。
