The gene trap vector pGT2lxf inserted after exon 2. Southern blot analysis indicates that this insertion results in deletion of a significant portion of the gene including exons 3 - 14. Northern and western blot analysis detected about a 30% reduction in expression in retinas from heterozygous mice. (J:141780)
