The gene trap cassette was inserted between exon 35 and exon 36, corresponding to sequences encoding the C-terminus of the protein. The encoded protein is undetectable in homozygous mutant brains using antibody against an N-terminal epitope or a C-terminal epitope, confirming the complete absence of the encoded protein for this allele.
