lacZ和neomycin抗性基因被插入到宿主基因的内2号 intron中，形成了基因陷阱载体。这个等位基因的转录产物将编码一个融合蛋白，由宿主基因的前282个氨基酸组成（不包括功能的磷酸酶区域），后面跟着β-半乳糖苷酶和neo。免疫印迹结果显示，野生型L和S变体的宿主基因肽仍产生少量，可能是因为内含陷阱的2号内含子被剪切出去了。（来源：J:243815）
