在非编码第1外显子插入了FRT引导的诺姆卡斯汀插件和一个loxP位点，同时在第2外显子下游也放置了一个loxP位点。通过与Flipase转基因小鼠杂交，移除了诺姆卡斯汀插件，使得仅剩下编码序列被loxP位点环绕。在将FRT和loxP位点引入第1外显子时，Xho酶的识别位点被破坏。来自异卵双亲胎盘和肠道组织的cDNA进行酶切分析表明，该基因在胎盘组织中（母源性基因表达）有印记，而在肠道干细胞中（两个等位基因都表达），则无印记。（来源：J:148715）
