将人类神经转化酶的cDNA片段克隆到了小鼠Thy1.2基因表达元件的XhoI位点。在Thy1启动子和神经转化酶起始密码子之间插入了含LoxP标记的转录终止子。这些带有转基因的鼠与持续表达Cre的鼠杂交，目的是删除含LoxP的转录终止子，激活无活动的转基因（来源：J:136579）。
