Germ line, cre-mediated recombination was used to remove the exons 2 and 3 as well as the neo cassette. Removal of these exons results in a frameshift in exon 4 and a premature termination codon in exon 6. The absence of full-length protein product and the presence of a truncated one was confirmed by western blot analysis. (J:143035)
