在两个基因座的整个编码序列被一个LoxP引导的诺姆西林选择座替换后，这两个基因座的皮质RNA（piRNA）在纯合雄性小鼠的睾丸RNA中通过实时PCR检测不到。此外，删除区域上游的皮质RNA，如piR-135965，最多7kb，以及下游的8kb区域（piR-111581），在这些雄性纯合个体的睾丸中显著减少。这些piRNA中，针对L1转座子的表达在这些小鼠的睾丸中有所增加，L1转座子是这些皮质RNA的一部分。（来源：139921）
