Floxed sequence including exon 2 and a neomycin cassette was excised from the gene by the expression of cre recombinase. Exon 2 contained the initiator methionine and 400 bp of coding sequence. Western blot analysis showed an absence of encoded protein in homozygous mutant embryos. (J:75116)
