Gfap启动子被用来在大脑中驱动Il6的表达。创建了G369、G16和G167等几条转基因小鼠线。G16的祖先整合了转录基因，同时还有另一个转录因子lacZ，它在Gfap的调控下表达。而G26和G36的祖先则不包含这种额外的转录元件。这条线中包含了四拷贝的IL-6转录基因。（来源：J:125549）
