使用携带9kb人类前列腺星状细胞抗原5'上游序列和5bp非编码区的转基因载体，将增强绿色荧光蛋白(EGFP)驱动表达插入到(C57BL/6 x C3H)F1胚胎中。在中孕期，随着输精管窦内前列腺芽的出现，表达开始显现。在成年鼠中，EGFP表达仅限于位于前列腺腺体远端尖端，朝向尿道的特定细胞群体。这种表达在青春期和雄激素驱动的再生期间增加，与前列腺的增殖有关。胚胎期，EGFP在表皮最表层短暂表达，但随年龄增长消失。除皮肤外，其他器官和组织未检测到转基因蛋白的表达。(来源：J:73560)
