在经过修改的第17外显子5'端插入了一个loxP位点，该外显子包含一个EGFP报告基因，后面跟着一个由FRT标记的诺卡因抗性元件和另一个loxP位点。通过Flp介导的重组，去除了选择性元件，使得这个修改的第17外显子成为可剪接的。GFP插入并未影响neurexin 3基因的表达，但在组织免疫组化或直接荧光检测中很难观测到GFP信号。(来源：J:224592)
