A 1.5 kb segment of genomic DNA containing exon 17 that encodes amino acids 678 to 745 of the first ATP-binding domain was replaced with a hygro cassette. The absence of protein product was confirmed by western blot analysis on erythrocye vesicle extracts. (J:135561)
