Exons 3 and 4 were floxed and cre-mediated recombination was used to remove the exons as well as the selection cassette. Gene targeting was performed ES cells that were homozygous for Gata4tm1.2Sad. The absence of Gata 4 and 6 transcripts was confirmed by RT-PCR on embryoid body extracts. (J:135185)
