一个位于C-kappa基因段远端的增强子元件通过同源重组被靶向。这个被称为"更远端增强子元件"（Ed）位于E3'增强子元素（Rr159）下游大约8kb的位置。Ed元件被两个loxP位点包裹，紧接其后放置了一个可筛选的诺姆因素 cassette。通过杂交育种，我们用Cre转基因小鼠与这些带有Cre的祖先小鼠交配，以去除Ed元件和选择 cassette。Southern blotting确认了Ed元件的删除。（来源：J:134885）
