A floxed neo cassette was inserted 3' to exon 12 and an additional loxP site was inserted 5' to exon 12. Transient cre expression resulted in the excision of the neo cassette and exon 12. The absence of protein product was confirmed by western blot analysis on brain extracts and immunohistochemistry on the brain. (J:131058)
