A P1 artificial chromosome was created that contained a condon-improved Cre recombinase with a nuclear localization signal fused to the initiation codon. Expression recapitulates endogenous expression in the lateral and or caudal ganglionic eminences with some medial ganglionic eminence expression. (J:105334)
