The OmniBank gene trap vector was inserted at position -3,273 to -3,272 relative to the ATG start site. Insertion disrupts the function of the distal promoter as confirmed by RT-PCR. Disruption of protein expression levels was confirmed by western blot analysis wich revealed a 50-75% reduction in the skeletal muscles, little change in the heart and a 99% reduction in the brain.
